Use Google Earth And Gps To Find Your Destination

We were planning a visit to a relatives house, one to which we’ve been but I had forgotten exactly which road to turn on to get there. We would be taking our 5th-wheel trailer, as we’d be camping at their homestead.

The Find > Address answer in my GPS was ambiguous. I wanted solid confirmation that we would be going to the correct place. What to do?

Google Earth to the rescue! I opened Google Earth and quickly found the location. Then, I placemarked the location. (Add > Placemark) Once the placemark pin was inserted, I right clicked on the pin, went to Properties, and read off and wrote down the latitude and longitude.

5 Steps To Choosing The Right Motorhome

If you’re thinking about getting into motorhoming for the first time, you might be wondering what type of motorhome you should choose - after all, motorhomes come in all sizes; from small vans to large coaches.

So how do you choose?

Five Steps to the Right Motorhome

1. How many berths [beds] do you need?

This is absolutely non-negotiable and must be got right. Remember a double bed counts as two berths and some beds are really only designed for children, so take note of each berth’s dimensions.

2. What facilities do you need?

Rv Awning Lock — Why Do I Need One?

Some RVers are not aware of a potential problem awaiting them.

Here’s the problem: While driving down the road, the fabric on the RV awning comes unfurled and might damage the fabric, the awning support pieces, and even the coach. This requires your immediate attention, whether or not it is convenient for you with regard to time or location.

Not every RVer will have this experience. I was talking with Wilson Forbes, President of Loess Hills Innovations who makes the RV Awning Travel Lock, recently and he estimated that one in five RVers would experience the problem at least once during their days of RVing. I have no data with which to refute that figure and it seems reasonable.

Pre-purchase Inspection Checklist For Used Motorhome, Rv, Campers And 5th Wheels

Buying a used RV isn’t as simple as it may seem. It can be especially difficult are you are going to be living in the motorhome or 5th wheel for any amount of time. It could be likened to buying a car and a house at the same time, except this house has wheel and goes 65 miles per hour, and this car has a stove and shower.

For this reason, it is crucial to have some great checklists to go over to ensure you find any problems there might be. Sellers usually won’t tell you each and every issue they know of. Some sellers will try to hide known problems. As the saying goes: “Buyer Beware”.

4.5 Tips For Finding The Best Rv Campground Or Trailer Park For Your Road Travels

A few years back I had the bad luck of going to a campsite that made my question my decision to be an RV lover. Despite all the research I had done, when I reached the campground we were headed to after a LONG day on the road, we discovered a campground that didn’t even resemble what we had been told.

The “hotel-like amenities” was more like a wooden shed. The “pool and pond” was more like a dirty lake that even the kids were afraid to enter. The “restaurant” made McDonald’s look like a 5-Star restaurant, and the noise from a near-by freeway was unbearable.
